Subject: 454 Squadron  >>>

 

"My brother Bill Fisher was on the squadron from 5/9/43 to 1/11/44

when he was posted from 462 sqdn. He was a member of 451sqdn at its foundation at Bankstown in Feb 1941. He also served on 462 sqdn before his posting to 454.  During his time with 451 he spent five weeks as POW in Bardia with several sqdn members.

 

He returned from Italy in 1945 and lost his life accidentally in 1951. 

 

I have traced the late Jim Cole through 451 Assn, he & Bill were friends on a couple of postings.

 

Bill Fisher was ground staff and at the time he was on 454 his rank was Flt/Sgt.
