The information below was provided by Patricia Murphy (wife of F/O Francis John Murphy in a letter to the association on 15 May 1999

Frank Murphy enlisted on 17.7.41 and was discharged on 3.9.45.  He completed Wireless and Bombing and Gunnery training in Canada leaving for the UK on 1.7.43.

He arrived in Egypt on 7.3.44 and served with 459 RAAF Squadron from 14.8.44 arriving back in UK on 14.3.45 for conversion to Leighlight Wellingtons but the Squadron was disbanded instead.
